Blockbusters Patchwork Blanket

Hello lovely people!

Sorry for the lull between posts, it’s just that……I’m moving house! Aaaaaah! It is the school holidays too, so I am crocheting a massive throw for our house. Not to put over our house….for the sofa…..YOU KNOW WHAT I MEANT! N.B. Blockbusters was a terrible 80’s quiz show in the UK.

It needs finishing, so I’d better get on with it. xxx

I’ve been away, but I’ve been busy!

Hi hi hi hi!

It seems like such a long time since I’ve posted. I’ve always been too tired to do so, even though I do peruse everyone else’s posts on WordPress to see what people are doing! Well, I got a new teaching job (permanent! woo hoo!) at a lovely new school; I went to Paris with my beloved Sam who is now Doctor Sam! All things are going fabulously (except that I always seem to be ill, but never mind).

First of all, I made Dave the Minion for Sam’s birthday. He’s about 40cm tall. I can provide a pattern if you want one, but I would have to really think about it!

I made a massive, massive, massive scarf which I wore everywhere and everyone wanted it (tough.)

I’ve started making a massive afghan because I’m going to be moving into a new house with the Doctor soon:

I added a collar and a flower to this simple navy dress:

And goodness knows what I’m going to do with this. I’m thinking of making it into a nice top. Or cushion cover. Or whatever.

granny square who knows

I really want to try this Moroccan Stitch Scarf

We’ll see.

It’s been a long week.

Hello. It’s winter. I’m cold. Others are flooded. It’s miserable. It’s that time of the year where people empathise with Morrissey and eating/sleeping/eating is all you want to do.

I started off the week one day earlier than usual – by doing the vintage fair. Here is my stall:

And I met quite a lot of lovely people, sold a bit of stuff and got myself out there! (Some of the left over stuff is for sale on ebay if you fancy it).

Then back to it on Monday! Parent’s evening, playground duties, SATS tests for the children……so much going on and now I’m thoroughly tired. 🙂 Fortunately though, I have a week off now. Yay!

Saturday 1st February AKA day off that wasn’t a day off (in pictures)

Hello. Today is my day off. I am meant to relax. I’ve been working hard all week.

BUT OH NO

I’m having to do loads of stuff for the Vintage Fair next week. I am enjoying preparing for it. Just not with a headache. Here is my day in pictures.

Everything is a mess.

9:00 am: Wake up. Drink tea. Take painkillers for headache. Laminate pictures. Sew cotton bags.

11:30 am: Assemble cork pin boards (which will be my display for the fair) and put berry coloured fabric on to the cork.

Now I need to sleep. I still have a bit to do, but the bulk is out of the way. Huzzah!

Art Nouveau Bag

Holla! Ain’t no stoppin’ me. Copywritten, so don’t copy me.

I have been making like a crazy lady for upcoming vintage fair thingy AND planning on going to Paris for Sam’s birthday. You know I love all things French: Eric Cantona, Sebastien Tellier, Brie, the phrase ‘ca suffit!’ (that’s enough), Brigitte Bardot, Coco Chanel, Pain au Chocolat – hell, I wish I was French.

So I did this.

2014-01-26 20.29.24 2014-01-26 20.29.35

I laminated and beaded an art nouveau picture then crocheted into it and made a small purse/clutch bag. I apologise for the colours. I don’t tend to be free much in the limited daylight we have at the moment. Harrumph.

Crochet calms me down and I have made another hat.

I have had a very long and busy day. But I’m not stressed. This is partly due to having a two hour nap when I got home from work (note to self: must petition the government to make it compulsory for all people to hibernate in January) and partly due to crocheting on my journey to and from school and when I got home. It engages me and it makes me feel like I am achieving something. I love it. I am happy. I aim one day to make a whole house out of crochet. I’m sorry. It’s late. I don’t know if I’m being serious or not. This is worrying.

Anyway, I made this hat:

Then I did this:

I’m going to bed now. Night night. x
